Bangladesh-Pakistan Cricket Series Begins From March 28

The postponed cricket series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will begin from March 28 in Dhaka. Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh, scheduled for March 7-22, was postponed on the advice of the Bangladesh government after Pakistan’s home series against Sri Lanka was abandoned, following an attack on the visiting team bus that left eight dead and several cricketers and officials injured. A spokesman for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) told Daily Times on Monday that Pakistan squad would leave for Dhaka on March 26 for five one-day internationals and one Twenty20. “Pakistan were to play two Twenty20 internationals but one match has been excluded from the schedule due to security reasons. All matches will be played at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. Chittagong has been dropped from the list of venues,” added the spokesman. The official said the PCB would receive the new schedule from the Bangladesh Cricket Board in a couple of days. The ODI series is out of the ICC’s Future Tour Programme. It does not have any contractual obligation.
